Why We Use Coconut Soy Wax

Behind Every Flame+Sugar Candle Series
Part 1 of 4

When you read about the ingredients in our candles, you’ll notice one thing mentioned again and again: premium coconut soy wax.

If you’ve already read Behind Every Flame+Sugar Candle, you know that every ingredient we choose is intentional. Wax is no exception. It’s the foundation of every candle, influencing everything from burn quality to scent throw and appearance.

So why coconut soy?

Simply put, it performs beautifully while remaining naturally derived.

Our premium coconut and soy wax blend burns cleaner than traditional paraffin wax, produces less soot when properly cared for, and provides an excellent scent throw without relying on petroleum-based ingredients.

It also allows for a smooth, creamy finish that complements the minimalist aesthetic of every Flame+Sugar vessel.

Choosing a premium wax isn’t the cheapest option. Coconut wax is one of the more expensive waxes available, but we believe quality begins with the ingredients you can’t always see. A beautiful vessel means very little if what’s inside isn’t made with the same level of care.

Combined with our natural cotton and wood wicks, this wax blend creates a slow, even burn that’s designed to help you enjoy your candle longer.

Of course, wax is only one piece of the experience. The fragrance you smell comes from another carefully selected ingredient. In our next article, we’ll explore the difference between therapeutic-grade essential oils and premium naturally derived fragrance oils—and why both have a place in thoughtful candle making.
